4 Easy Ways to Network on Twitter Before a Conference or Event

4 Easy Ways to Network on Twitter Before a Conference or Event
Twitter is a fantastic tool for interacting with fellow conference attendees, speakers, and even organizers. You don’t have to wait until you get TO the conference to start connecting, though.
In fact, connecting on Twitter is a great way to introduce yourself and start an online conversation which you can then easily continue in real life when you meet face-to-face!

1. Connect With Hashtag Users

Visit the conference website to find out the designated hashtag for the event. This is be the easiest way for you to connect with attendees and other interested people.
Create and save a Twitter search for that hashtag and start putting frequent users into a list you can interact with regularly. Now you can retweet them, reply to tweets, or look at their websites and share their content (making sure to add their @username) in the tweet so they’ll know what you’re doing.  Trust me, they will notice.

2. Connect With Speakers And Vendors

Most conferences share a list of speakers and vendors long before the big day. Seek them out on Twitter. If you don’t find the individual’s name, try their company name.
Create two more Twitter lists – one for speakers and one for vendors.  Now get ready to talk!

3. Introducing Yourself On Twitter

Here are some ways you can effectively interact before the big day:
  • You can ask hashtag users, who might be attendees, what sessions or speakers they are looking forward to. Example, “@username, Will you be there? What are you most excited about? #hashtag”
  • Tell speakers you are looking forward to their sessions (if you are) and tell them good luck. Example, “@username, I’m looking foward to your (presentation title) part at #hashtag!”
  • Look at attendee and speaker websites to see if they have blogged about their upcoming presentation and share that (again, making sure to @mention them). Example, “Upcoming #hashtag speaker @username shares tips on (subject) (link to post).”
  • Tweet out that you are looking forward to @username presentation on (subject) at #hashtag.  Example, “Really looking forward to upping my (subject) game with @username ‘s #hashtage presentation!”

4. Sharing Your Own Conference-Related Content

Are you speaking at the conference? Are you so excited about attending that you just had to blog about it? By all means, share your content on Twitter and use the hashtag.
If you’re speaking on a panel with others, mention them in your blog post and @mention them in the updates – they’re likely to share as well. If your blog post about attending included people you are looking forward to meeting, or a mention of their presentations, tag them when you share!
As you can imagine, this not only puts you on the radar of attendees, including influential speakers, but your tweets will also be seen by anyone following the hashtag. Consistent, helpful (not spammy) conversations will encourage people to seek you out when they get there – or perhaps even before!

How to get more likes on facebook page

Posted by desai bhikhu  |  at  10:42

If you have recently created a Facebook fan page  for your blog or a website, increasing likes will be the major headache for you. Simply you can get 50-100 likes just by inviting your friends but the problem arises after that. Increasing a single like is just like searching water on desert. As you know that number of website visitor directly depends upon the number of Facebook fans. Therefore it is very important to increase your likes because more the number of Facebook fans, is more the popularity of a blog. As being a professional blogger and from my 3 years of blogging experience, I am  showing you some tricks to get more likes on Facebook page.
[IMG]Without wasting the time lets see some effective strategies to increase your Facebook likes.
1. Engage your audience
Posting an effective Facebook post, that will engage the audience is the perfect way to increase you Facebook fan following. Posting some jokes, quiz or some heart touching lines or pictures will encourage the audience to share your post, comment  or to like it and that will probably increase the visibility of your Facebook page to more audience.
2. Using Friends Facebook ID
You will probably invite your friends instantly after creating your Facebook fan page but there’s another technique of increasing the likes by requesting your  friends to invite their other friends. If your 10 friends invite all of their friends in their list, I guarantee that your Facebook like will be more than 500.
3. Uploading videos on YouTube
Sign up for a YouTube channel and start uploading some videos that entertains or trains the viewers. The video must represent your blog and at the conclusion of the video request the viewers to like your Facebook page as well provide the link to you fan page at the description of the video.
4. Add like box and sharing buttons
Use the like box and provide link to your Facebook page in your blog or a website to increase the fan following of your Facebook page. Sharing buttons are also important factor to increase the likes therefore always add the sharing buttons inside of your posts. If you are using wordpress as a content management system there are various plugin available to create an attractive and effective buttons.
5. Comment on popular pages
Yes, this trick works for me. When I used to comment on some popular pages, normally I used to get 4-5 likes daily. So, how to comment on popular blogs? Its simple, comment  on page as a brand (ITDigitalWorld) not as an individual (Tirtha Ojha) and there is a high chances of getting more likes from the comment on those popular pages.
However, these are some of the effective technique to increase you fan following on Facebook but there is one more technique to increase you likes and that is by using Facebook advertisement. By the way to promote your page using Facebook you have to spend some dollars and that’s the reason I have not mentioned it above.
Good Luck 😀 and I hope this technique will help you to increase your Facebook fan following.

Top 5 Stages of Advertising Campaigns

Posted by desai bhikhu  |  at  21:50

This article throws light upon the five main stages involved in a well managed advertising campaign. The stages are: 1. Set the Advertising Objectives 2. Set the Advertising Budget 3. Determine the Key Advertising Message 4. Decide which Advertising Media to Use 5. Evaluate the Results of the Advertising Campaign.
<script>

Stage # 1. Set the Advertising Objectives:

An advertising objective is a specific communication task to be achieved with a specific target audience during a specified period of time.
Advertising objectives fall into three main categories:
(a) To inform, e.g. tell customers about a new product.

(b) To persuade, e.g. encourage customers to switch to a new brand.
(c) To remind, e.g. remind buyers where to find the product.

Stage # 2. Set the Advertising Budget:

Marketers should remember that the role of advertising is to create demand for a product. The amount spent on advertising should be relevant to the potential sales impact of the campaign. This in turn will reflect the characteristics of the product being advertised.
For example, new products tend to need a larger advertising budget to build awareness and to encourage consumers to make a trial of the product. A product that is highly differentiated may also need more advertising to help set it apart from the competition.Setting the advertising budget is not easy—how can a business predict the right amount to spend? Which parts of the advertising campaign will work best and which will have a relatively little effect? Businesses often use the rule of thumb as a guide to set budgets.

Stage # 3. Determine the Key Advertising Message:

Spending a lot on advertising does not guarantee success. Research suggests that the clarity of the advertising message is often more important than the amount spent. The advertising message must be carefully targeted to make an impact on the target customer audience.
A successful advertising message should have the following characteristics:
(a) Meaningful:

Customers should find the message relevant, e.g. the ad by Vodafone made it clear that their network extends everywhere customers want it to reach.
(b) Distinctive:
The ad must capture the customer’s attention, like the Hoodibaba ad by Baja Auto. The photography and sound effects generated much interest.
(c) Believable:
This is a difficult task, since researchers suggest that most consumers doubt the truth of advertising in general.

Stage # 4. Decide which Advertising Media to Use:

There are a variety of advertising media from which to choose. A campaign may use one or more of the media alternatives.
The key factors in choosing the right media include:
(a) Reach:
What proportion of the target customers will be exposed to the advertising?
(b) Frequency:
How many times will the target customers be exposed to the advertising message?
(c) Media impact:
Where should the target customer see the message for it to have most impact? For example, does an advertisement promoting holidays for elderly people have more impact on television (if so, when and which channels) or in a national newspaper or perhaps a magazine focused on this segment of the population?
Another key decision is the timing of the campaign. Some products are suited to seasonal campaigns on television (e.g. Diwali or Christmas hampers) whereas for other products, a regular advertising campaign throughout the year in media such as newspapers and niche magazines (e.g. a resort holiday in a hill station) may be more appropriate.

Stage # 5. Evaluate the Results of the Advertising Campaign:

The evaluation of an advertising campaign should focus on two key areas:
Communication effect:
Is the intended message being communicated effectively and to the intended audience? For example, it is important for the company to make a note of the effects of its communication efforts. Airtel saw a huge increase in sales after the release of its ad featuring A.R. Rehman.
Sales effect:
Has the campaign generated the intended sales growth? This is much more difficult to measure than the communication effect

12 Important Functions of Marketing

Posted by desai bhikhu  |  at  21:29

Marketing is related to the exchange of goods and services. Through its medium the goods and services are brought to the place of consumption. This satisfies the needs of the customers. The following activities are undertaken in respect of the exchange of goods and services:
1. Gathering and Analysing Market Information:
Gathering and analyzing market information is an important function of marketing. Under it, an effort is made to understand the consumer thoroughly in the following ways:
marketing
ADVERTISEMENTS:

(a) What do the consumers want?
(b) In what quantity?
(c) At what price?
ADVERTISEMENTS:

(d) When do they want (it)?
(e) What kind of advertisement do they like?
(f) Where do they want (it)?
What kind of distribution system do they like? All the relevant information about the consumer is collected and analysed. On the basis of this analysis an effort is made to find out as to which product has the best opportunities in the market.
ADVERTISEMENTS:

2. Marketing Planning:
In order to achieve the objectives of an organisation with regard to its marketing, the marketeer chalks out his marketing plan. For example, a company has a 25% market share of a particular product.
The company wants to raise it to 40%. In order to achieve this objective the marketer has to prepare a plan in respect of the level of production and promotion efforts. It will also be decided as to who will do what, when and how. To do this is known as marketing planning.
3. Product Designing and Development:
Product designing plays an important role in product selling. The company whose product is better and attractively designed sells more than the product of a company whose design happens to be weak and unattractive.
ADVERTISEMENTS:
In this way, it can be said that the possession of a special design affords a company to a competitive advantage. It is important to remember that it is not sufficient to prepare a design in respect of a product, but it is more important to develop it continuously.
4. Standardisation and Grading:
Standardisation refers to determining of standard regarding size, quality, design, weight, colour, raw material to be used, etc., in respect of a particular product. By doing so, it is ascertained that the given product will have some peculiarities.
This way, sale is made possible on the basis of samples. Mostly, it is the practice that the traders look at the samples and place purchase order for a large quantity of the product concerned. The basis of it is that goods supplied conform to the same standard as shown in the sample.
Products having the same characteristics (or standard) are placed in a given category or grade. This placing is called grading. For example, a company produces commodity – X, having three grades, namely A’. ‘B’ and ‘C’, representing three levels of quality; best, medium and ordinary respectively.
Customers who want best quality will be shown ‘A’ grade product. This way, the customer will have no doubt in his mind that a low grade product has been palmed off to him. Grading, therefore, makes sale-purchase easy. Grading process is mostly used in case of agricultural products like food grains, cotton, tobacco, apples, mangoes, etc.
5. Packaging and Labelling:
Packaging aims at avoiding breakage, damage, destruction, etc., of the goods during transit and storage. Packaging facilitates handling, lifting, conveying of the goods. Many a time, customers demand goods in different quantities. It necessitates special packaging. Packing material includes bottles, canister, plastic bags, tin or wooden boxes, jute bags etc.
Label is a slip which is found on the product itself or on the package providing all the information regarding the product and its producer. This can either be in the form of a cover or a seal.
For example, the name of the medicine on its bottle along with the manufacturer’s name, the formula used for making the medicine, date of manufacturing, expiry date, batch no., price etc., are printed on the slip thereby giving all the information regarding the medicine to the consumer. The slip carrying all these is details called Label and the process of preparing it as Labelling.
6. Branding:
Every producer/seller wants that his product should have special identity in the market. In order to realise his wish he has to give a name to his product which has to be distinct from other competitors.
Giving of distinct name to one’s product is called branding. Thus, the objective of branding is to show that the products of a given company are different from that of the competitors, so that it has its own identity.
For instance, if a company wants to popularise its commodity – X under the name of “777” (triple seven) then its brand will be called “777”. It is possible that another company is selling a similar commodity under AAA (Triple ‘A’) brand name.
Under these circumstances, both the companies will succeed in establishing a distinct identity of their products in the market. When a brand is not registered under the trade Mark Act, 1999, it becomes a Trade Mark.
7. Customer Support Service:
Customer is the king of market. Therefore, it is one of the chief functions of marketer to offer every possible help to the customers. A marketer offers primarily the following services to the customers:
(i) After-sales-services
(ii) Handling customers’ complaints
(iii) Technical services
(iv) Credit facilities
(v) Maintenance services
Helping the customer in this way offers him satisfaction and in today’s competitive age customer’s satisfaction happens to be the top-most priority. This encourages a customer’s attachment to a particular product and he starts buying that product time and again.
8. Pricing of Products:
It is the most important function of a marketing manager to fix price of a product. The price of a product is affected by its cost, rate of profit, price of competing product, policy of the government, etc. The price of a product should be fixed in a manner that it should not appear to be too high and at the same time it should earn enough profit for the organisation.
9. Promotion:
Promotion means informing the consumers about the products of the company and encouraging them to buy these products. There are four methods of promotion: (i) Advertising, (ii) Personal selling, (iii) Sales promotion and (iv) Publicity. Every decision taken by the marketer in this respect affects the sales. These decisions are taken keeping in view the budget of the company.
10. Physical Distribution:
Under this function of marketing the decision about carrying things from the place of production to the place of consumption is taken into account. To accomplish this task, decision about four factors are taken. They are: (i) Transportation, (ii) Inventory, (iii) Warehousing and (iv) Order Processing. Physical distribution, by taking things, at the right place and at the right time creates time and place utility.
11. Transportation:
Production, sale and consumption-all the three activities need not be at one place. Had it been so, transportation of goods for physical distribution would have become irrelevant. But generally it is not possible. Production is carried out at one place, sale at another place and consumption at yet another place.
Transport facility is needed for the produced goods to reach the hands of consumers. So the enterprise must have an easy access to means of transportation.
Mostly we see on the road side’s private vehicles belonging to Pepsi, Coca Cola, LML, Britannia, etc. These private carriers are the living examples of transportation function of marketing. Place utility is thus created by transportation activity.
12. Storage or Warehousing:
There is a time-lag between the purchase or production of goods and their sale. It is very essential to store the goods at a safe place during this time-interval. Godowns are used for this purpose. Keeping of goods in godowns till the same are sold is called storage.
For the marketing manager storage is an important function. Any negligence on his part may damage the entire stock. Time utility is thus created by storage activity.
